Like many photographers my preferred place is behind the camera rather than in front of the lens - I think that it has been this way for a very long time. The first time that I picked up a camera as a creative exercise was in 1986 when I was putting together my portfolio for college prior to studying Interior Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, followed by a Post-Graduate year at Edinburgh College of Art. A lot has changed since then - computers rather than the dark room, digital versus film to name just  two.  Over 30 years later (!!), after many successful design projects across interiors and furniture, and 2 children , I welcome the opportunity to once again pick up the camera and reflect on the world around us. I hope that you enjoy the images and I welcome your comments.   Katie Buchanan
